Case Overview

On June 24th, 2024 at approximately 1200 hrs at Nairobi South C Shopping Centre within Nairobi County, were found with four (4) pieces of elephant tusks concealed in a multiple colored Nigerian bag inside motor vehicle KCZ 564P weighing 13.1 kg.  Three of the accused were found to be Rwandese citizens in the country without a valid permit or pass.

PROCEEDINGS

 
#01. June 28th, 2024 (Mention): .All accused pleaded not guilty. They were not represented by counsel. The bond was set for  500k plus 2 sureties for accused foreigners. Bail 300k alternatively 500k plus 1 surety for accused Kenyans. There is an indication that the first accused Tuyisenge, is a refugee which may affect his second charge. The matter is coming up for pre-trial on July 16th, 2024.
