#16. February 13thth, 2025 (Hearing): Today’s hearing did not take place as the final KWS witness was unwell.  The matter has been adjourned to May 20th, 2025 for hearing.

PROCEEDINGS

 
#15. September 30th, 2024 (Hearing): Today’s hearing proceeded with testimony from one KWS witness. The ivory exhibits were also in court.
 
The witness recounted that on January 20th, 2023, in the process of the arrest, the accused resisted which incited members of the public to try and assist him. KWS had to fire shots into the air to disperse the gathering crowd that was impeding their departure.
 
The trial will continue on February 13th, 2025.

#14. July 4th, 2024 (Hearing): This hearing did not take place as the court was closed for meetings. A hearing date was later set for September 30th, 2024.

#13. April 8th, 2024 (Mention): A hearing date was set for July 4th, 2024.

#12. March 14th, 2024 (Hearing): The scheduled hearing did not take place as the court was not sitting. The matter was adjourned to April 8th to set a hearing date.

#10. November 30th, 2023 (Hearing): Officially, this matter was adjourned as the sitting magistrate had to leave for an official meeting with the Magistrate Head of Station to Msambweni.  That decision came at approximately 1240 hrs.
 
The prosecutor advised the court that he was ready to proceed with two witnesses present. 
 
The matter was adjourned for mention on February 8th and hearing on March 14th, 2023.  The accused is out on bond. (SEEJ First Appearance)

#1. January 23rd, 2023 (Plea): The accused was arraigned in court and pleaded not guilty. The accused is out on bond. There have been 10 sittings so far.
