#13. April 25th, 2024 (Mention): The court set the next hearing date to June 12th. It is not known whether the court actually sat for this matter on April 2nd. There is no indication on the public efiling system that it did.

#12. March 28th, 2024 (Hearing): Today’s hearing did not proceed.  All attendees were advised by the security person at the gate that court staff have gone for team building and all the cases that were supposed to be heard today are pushed to Tuesday, April 2nd.

A similar occurrence played out the previous Friday at Kahawa court.

#11. January 18th, 2024 (Mention): All relevant persons in court today before SRM Okuche. A hearing date has been set for March 28th, 2024.

#10. January 17th, 2024 (Mention): The court of Hon. SPM Okuche was not sitting today for reasons not specified  and the mention was handled by Hon. RM Evelyn Gaithuma who adjourned it to the following day, January 18th.

#9. December 6th, 2023 (Hearing): Today’s scheduled hearing did not take place.

The case of Edward Irungu Mwangi was adjourned until January 17, 2024, due to a lack of sufficient documents to support the hearing.
 
The suspect appeared before Nyeri Senior Principal Magistrate Matthias Okuche on Wednesday but prosecutor Nelly Waweru asked the court for another date, citing that she has not yet received the cyber crime report on this case.
 
In addition, the exhibit could not be brought into court without all the required documents.
 
The accused was charged that on July 10, 2023, at Charity area in Nyeri  County, was found in possession of six elephants tusks weighing 6.1 kg with a street value of Sh 1.2 Million while being transported using a Toyota Senta motor vehicle registration number KBZ 039k without authority from the Director General of Kenya Wildlife Service.
 
The suspect is out on a bond of KES 1 Million and two sureties of KES 600,000 each.
 
The case will be  mentioned on January 17, 2024.

#7. September 20th, 2023. (Hearing):  (First appearance for SEEJ) The scheduled hearing did not take place as the prosecution was not ready to proceed as they were waiting for the police reports.

#1. July 12th, 2023 (Plea): The accused was arraigned and pleaded not guilty.
