#11. August 1st, 2024 (Hearing): The court set a mention date of August 14th.
 
Expert testimony from witness of the National Museum of Kenya that the suspected elephant tusks are actually ivory.

On October 5th, 2023, at around 1330hrs, at Kanamai  area of Kilifi south, Kilifi County, Kahindi Katana Kadenge, was found in possession of wildlife trophies namely 3 pieces of elephant tusks weighing 7 kg. He was arraigned in court on October 6th, 2023.

#5. January 23rd, 2023 (Hearing):  Today’s hearing did not occur. At 14:30 hrs, with two witnesses and exhibits present, the court announced that the matter would not proceed today as two other hearings had taken longer than expected. The hearing was adjourned to February 20th.

December 27th, 2023 (Hearing):  Atypically, the first witness to testify in this trial was the expert from National Museum of Kenya.  She told the court that the three pieces of suspected elephant tusks (produced in court) found on the accused,  were ivory. Next hearing date set for January 23rd, 2024.

#3. November 17th, 2023 (Mention):  Due to very heavy rains and serious flooding in the area, all court matters started late. This mention was called without the accused in attendance as he is still in custody. A hearing date was set for December 27th, 2023. Only the Magistrate and prosecutor were present.

#2. October 19th, 2023 (Mention):The case was set over for another mention for November 17th. The accused is in custody.

#1. October 6th, 2023 (Plea): The accused was arraigned and pleaded not guilty. It was set over for a mention on October 19th.
