SEEJ-AFRICA THUMBNAIL:
- The Mara Elephant Project (MEP) reports that on July 26th, 2021, its intelligence unit along with the Kenya Wildlife Service, arrested two men in the Mabera area, approximately 10 km from the Tanzanian border.
- The men were found with six tusk pieces totalling 15.8 kg. While not confirmed, they were likely arraigned in Migori Court
- In January, the MEP arrested one man, also close to the Tanzanian border, with 11 kg of ivory.
