SEEJ-AFRICA THUMBNAIL:
- On January 5th, 2021, KWS officers with support from the Mara Elephant Project arrested two men with 3 tusks weighing 30 kg.
- They were arrested in Narok West Sub-county and taken to Narok Court the following day.
- Appearing before Chief Magistrate George Wakahiu, the two accused pled not guilty and were remanded to January 11th for bail application.
- The 3 tusks weighed 12.7 kg, 13 kg, and 4.3 kg.
- Investigators believed the ivory came from Tanzania
